Profile ≪略歴≫ 1945年 山梨県勝沼市に生まれる。東京芸術大学打楽器科卒業。 在学中より山下洋輔トリオに在籍、３度のヨーロッパツアーに参加 1975年、山下トリオを退団 1977年、自己のバンドを結成、日本国内はもとよりドイツ・イタリア・ソ連（現ロシア）での演奏も行う 1984年、ニュルンベルク「East-West Jazz Festival」での演奏がenjaレコードから発売 1985年、病により演奏活動をほぼ停止し療養生活を送る 1989年、演奏活動再開 1994年、自己のグループでドイツ・イタリアツアー敢行 2002年、第27回 南里文雄賞、第35回 ジャズ・ディスク大賞日本ジャズ賞、第56回 文化芸術祭賞レコード部門優秀賞を受賞。 2003年、George Garzone，Abraham Burtonを迎えての公演を行い、『A LIVE SUPREME』を制作 2007年、レギュラーメンバーにてCD『Catch up!』とDVD『Live at ala』を発表 2010年、CD『Central Park East』とMORIYAMA JAZZ NIGHT 2009の模様を収めたDVD『森山×山下』を発表 2011年は再度、George Garzoneを迎えて、国内ツアーを実施 その最終日を収めた『Dazzling』を発表 2014年には森山威男NONETによる、DVD『楽しくなけりゃ意味ないね』と板橋文夫との『STRAIGHTEDGE』を発表 また2001年からは在住である岐阜県可児市との共同企画で『MORIYAMA JAZZ NIGHT』を可児市文化創造センター 大ホールにて毎年開催。毎回、新たな趣向にチャ レンジして、地元の文化活動にも貢献している。 プロフィール画像 1945 Born in Katsunuma City, Yamanashi prefecture. Every year, his performances are based on new, expansive ideas, and have contributed to the local cultural activities. ≪経歴≫ 1945年 山梨県勝沼町に生まれる。 勝沼小学校時代＝勝沼劇場で初めてジャズの生演奏を聴き、ドラマーになることを決意。 甲府市立北中学校時代＝演劇に熱中し、役者になることを決意。 甲府市第一高等学校時代＝ブラスバンドで初めてドラムを叩き、ドラマーになることを決意。 1964年 東京藝術大学打楽器科入学。 大学時代＝クラッシク音楽になじめず、苦悩の日々 夢破れて退学届けを提出したが、断られた。 中川昌三、加古隆とジャズを始める。 国立音楽大学の山下洋輔に出会う。 1967年 山下洋輔トリオに参加。 しかし生活はおぼつかず、安アパートで水を飲む。 だが、これこそ自分の音楽だという確信を持つ。 1974年 ドイツ、メールスニュージャズフェスティバル出演。 秋、ドイツ、ベルリンジャズフェスティバル出演。 ドイツのあちこちをこうして演奏旅行した。⇒ ヨーロッパ中を叩き廻ったがまだ叩き足らない。。。 1975年 東ドイツを含め多くのフェスティバルへ出演するも、生き方に変化を求め、大晦日に山下洋輔トリオ退団。 1977年 森山威男カルテットを結成。 しかし！ ｢ハッシャバイ｣の華麗なアドリブは写真から感じ取れない。 以後、板橋 文夫，井上 淑彦，望月 英明と堅い絆ができる。 1984年 ドイツ、ニュールンベルグジャズフェスティバル等出演。 生き方の変化を求めて板橋文夫が、そして井上淑彦が去る。 1997年 田中信正(p)と音川英二(ts)に出会う。 2000年 藤井修照氏の援助により、Ｆレーベルに録音。 2002年 「南里文雄賞」，「日本ジャズ大賞」，「日本芸術賞」受賞。 2002年 可児市「ＡＬＡ」で第１回「Moriyama Jazz Night」を旗揚げ。 (記述：森山威男) ▲
